Problem

Leumas is the author of rap music, whose audience is primarily young people, especially teenagers. He is one of the members of the label Isaac Records. Through his work, he wants not only to create good music but also to encourage people to live a more meaningful life and share their faith. Leumas is a young, energetic rapper who lives by modern music. The request for the visual rendition of his second bigger solo work was very clear — it should be lively, and full of energy.

Solution

And that is precisely how I wanted to design it. I reached for vivid colors to create a few different gradients. I combined those and turned them into colorful surfaces. Then I divided the surface into foreground and background. The background is a black texture that is present below the colorful foreground. It can only be seen in places where the foreground is torn. This creates the feeling that the visual has depth and that we are in 3D space.

The foreground surface contains a pattern created from short horizontal lines. The pattern's role is to contrast the jagged tears and give the whole design a calmer feel. Finally, I equipped the design with anchor points — squares, which are located in six places of the format and bind textual information. They have a similar function as the colored lines.

From the proposed visual style, I created separate covers for each of the songs on the EP, including two specials. These were for songs on which Leumas collaborated with other authors. In these cases, I incorporated their faces into the design.
